High hopes keep pushing me along
While alcohol and women keep inspiring my songs
luckily for me there's always whiskey and one night stands
& others who can relate to my situations
Like at that Wealthy St dive bar
Where the band and I use to burn it down for pitchers of PBR
It sure wasn't the big time but we were making noise
& them folks they could relate to them god damn Carboys
Things are different now than they were then
I'm still singing songs of lost love and trying to make amends
Nothing lasts forever, people will always change
& I'm thankful for those who can relate
