There ain't nothing like a 5th of gin
To wipe a slate all clean again
Let me tell you how I learned this to be true
See my woman she just up and left
Took all she owned and away she went
I don't think I ever felt so blue
At the liquor store I looked over my options
There was Captain, Cuervo and Seagrams 7
But I went to Bombay that there night
About an hour later the bottle was dry
It still blows my mind I was still alive
And I walked down to the pub looking for a fight
And I said bring it on god damn, I'll take on any man
I just drank a 5th of courage on my own
I ain't had the best of days, I'm gonna make somebody pay
Bring it on god damn and I'll be gone
Well from the bar came a mountain man
With hands the size of frying pans
I knew this wasn't gonna end well
He put up his fists and I put up mine
I threw a punch but it was offline
He knocked my dumbs half to hell
When I awoke a weeks time had passed
I was lying down in a hospital bed
And I just couldn't remember my name
Nor could I remember that stink in' bar
Or that bottle of gin or my baby's car
That drove off with my love inside that day
When I said bring it on god damn, I'll take on any man
And the biggest, baddest joe stepped to the plate
The best part of it is I don't remember any of it
And thats how gin will give you a clean slate
